This album is going to be totally Stellar - Jun 24, 2008
Not that anybody comes here to this site, but incase you do, here is what is going on as of late. We will be working hard on the album. Since we are doing it independently we have to fund everything ourselves. This only allows us minimal time in the studio. We are working week in and week out and traveling to the studio 2 to 3 times a week to lay down some tracks. We can promise, without a doubt that you will fall in love with this album. Our new songs are working themselves out beautifully. Please stay tuned to either this page or our myspace to see what comes in the near future. It will be great, that is for sure.

Things happenin for a reason - Feb 25, 2008
Well here is what is currently going on in the crazy world of Kirkland. We have had to cancel our trip to SXSW Music Fest in Austin, TX in March. Our drummer was informed he has to testify in court on the same day as one of our showcases. We have been planning this trip since attending last year and were initially upset at this news.
However, Kirkland is all about taking life's lemons and making some super sweet lemonade. We see it as a sign that we need to focus on our current recording and have decided to put out a full length album instead of a 4 song EP. We are going to use the money and time we save from cancelling the trip to continue to work on the album and the marketing/promotion for it. We have lots of new music and will do new versions of some old tunes. This new music is pretty different from anything you have heard from us before.
Our producer, Nate Yeske, has almost become an honorary 6th member of the band with contributing great ideas and keeping a very positive energy and mood in the studio and on the recordings.
We are pumped for you to hear the new music and will leak some tidbits in the next couple weeks.
Thanks for your continued support. Look for the album to be done in May. If you are not from IL and would like us to make a tour stop in late spring/summer(or any time) in your area please let us know.

SWEET TEES!! - Feb 07, 2008

T-shirts and Recording - Jan 10, 2008
Like we promised, our new t-shirts are in, and they are sweet! We have some other big news. A friend of ours is opening a recording studio in our area and has given us a sweet deal that we can't pass up. We will start recording with him on a new EP next wednesday(Jan. 16). As soon as we are done recording we will be heading down to Austin, TX for SXSW Music Festival. Also stay tuned for our plans for summer touring. Til next time.

Another one bites the dust - Dec 05, 2007
Well, yet another drummer gone. This makes three to date. Don't know what it is with drummers. They are some wild kids. The good news is, there are a lot of them and we will soon have a new guy who is hopefully on the same page as the rest of us. Just a reminder to anyone in the Chicago area, you should try to make it to our show at Goose Island on Dec. 21. Really hope to see you there. Later Folks

Oct. Brings Change - Sep 19, 2007
So...Fall is here and as the leaves begin to fall, we are working on making everything new. This month, look for a new look from us. New t-shirts will be on the way very soon, as well as 2 maybe 3 new songs. We will also be changing the look of our myspace and an launching a Kirkland b-sides myspace page. This is a collection of different styles of music that we have made and threw on our back burner over the past year. Stay tuned to our myspace page for these changes. Have a great day.

Ryan's Last show - Aug 16, 2007
Hello Everybody. We wanted to let you officially know that after close to five years, our drummer Ryan McCoy, is leaving the band. Ryan has quite a few things he has always wanted to pursue other than music. He felt like right now was the time to do that. Ryan left under good terms. He is a great friend and we wish him the best in all his endeavors. For those of you who live in our area, we will be having Ryan's official last show here in Dixon, IL on friday August 31. We will also be debuting new songs with our new drummer. We hope you can make it.

Summer of Love - Jul 11, 2007
Hello again friends. Just another little update for you. We are still working hard on writing and recording new demos. The next two weeks will possibly have two of four new songs ready for you to listen to. As you can see, we have some time off in July. In order for all of us to stay on top of finances for the band and get new material worked out we have to stay busy week in and week out. So we have decided to take most of July off as far as playing shows and will be working on lots of shows and touring for August and Sept. Thanks for tuning in.
